TWENTY THREE YEARS // Did you know that the Vehicles and Violins Gala event is in it’s twenty-third year of giving? That’s right over 23 years of partnering with local automotive dealers and local vendors to help support worthy local causes like @Ronald McDonald House® @Calgary Food Bank @discovery_house and so many more. Since our first Gala event in the year 2000, we have raised more than $4 million dollars for charities in Alberta! Thank you to everyone over the years who has made this possible.

Calgary Motor Dealers Charitable Foundation Donates $50,000!

We are very excited to announce that even in the midst of uncertain times, with the extraordinary support of patrons, donors, and sponsors the Calgary Motor Dealers Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce a donation of $50,000 to Calgary Food Bank; the 2024 Vehicles and Violins Gala benefiting charity.

Supporting Community

The Calgary Motor Dealers Charitable Foundation (CMDCF) is committed to providing Calgary and surrounding area Charities and Educational Institutions with the opportunity to enhance their charitable goals.

Each year the CMDCF donates $10,000 to the Calgary Food Bank.  In addition, 10 Memorial Scholarships are awarded to Automotive Apprentices who have displayed a strong work ethic while working in Dealer Member Franchised Stores.  Moreover, 17 Scholarships are awarded to SAIT Automotive students.

We created the “Tools for Schools” program which provides Calgary High School Automotive Programs with the tools and equipment necessary for the various Automotive Programs.  Subsequently, 23 High Schools in Calgary are benefiting from this initiative.

The CMDCF hosts 2 Premier Events each year, Vehicles & Violins Gala and the CMDCF Charity Golf Classic.

We are extremely proud to collaborate with our Members, Sponsors, Charities, and Patrons in these ongoing endeavors to support incredibly deserving Charities in our Community.

In another first in 2016, the Calgary Motor Dealers Association donated $100,000 worth of tools to 13 Calgary high school automotive programs—seven Calgary Board of Education schools and six separate schools. “It amounted to $50,000 per board,” says CMDA executive manager Jim Gillespie, “including everything from hoists to tire machines and socket sets to scanning tools supplied by Snap-On.”
